"A musical voyage through the cosmos, what it would mean to get out of our backyard and meet our cousins living in other worlds, perhaps in crystallized living form?"

Keep the music going...
We know that most people no longer pay for music. This is a problem. Even more so for musicians of jazz, classical and instrumental music (just like me!) that lack a large commercial demand for their music. A lot of us don't lack the merits, but we do lack the financial means to give you more of what you like.

And yet, here you are now, reading this message, listening to the music. You are part of a very select group of people, a minority (although a big one in numbers) that understands and appreciates the difficulty and value in this work. If only half of you donated a small amount consistently, we wouldn't need to ask for your support, and we would have 3 or 4 times more music and content for you.

Bringing you (ad-free) the music and content of this website takes hundreds of hours, practice, technical knowledge, love and hard work. If you find joy or any kind of value here, please become a Supporting Member with a recurring monthly donation of your choosing:

Here's "Origins", with full instrumentation. Choir, mandolin, strings, synthesizers, percussion, flute and of course, piano. "Piano Chronicles of a Space Voyager" is a musical fantasy inspired in the mysteries of the universe and life. "Origins" is the second part of the voyage, telling the story and feelings behind the greatness of the cosmos. The mysteries of consciousness and how love, pain, life and death become intertwined in the perfection of existence that only music can describe. Thank you for your love and support sharing this music with this minority we belong to, a precious few who still value instrumental and contemplative musical arts. Your support purchasing, donating or at least sharing this music is highly appreciated.

Piano Chronicles of a Space Voyager is my latest work that includes plenty of synthesizers and electronic elements in it. You can't have space music without electronic instruments, right? Somehow it seems wrong to have space music in the XXI century without synthesizers... Hey, even the astronauts on the Apollo 10 mission heard some!

If you have been following my site, you probably now that right by the year 2015, I sort of had a falling out with the "new agey", commercial, mostly electronic sound of music out there, including my own! so you may think, why is Leo doing space music again? Well, it's probably not what you think.

Gustav Holst was a pioneer of space music. He wrote "The Planets" suite, which is an extremely fine piece of music. I must say I wanted to do my own take of it, this time, inspired by alien intelligence, deep space travel, new galaxies, the works. And since we live in the XXI century, I decided the use of synthesizers is quite warranted.

So, you could call this a "tribute" album, not only to Holst's work, but also to all existing "space music" out there, including the superb work of Mike Oldfield on "The Songs of Distant Earth".

I personally think that if you are not fascinated with outer space, the wonders of the cosmos and the big questions of how we came to exist here, you are missing out on a whole lot of what makes life worth living. This music explores that, and I couldn't think of a better title like Piano Chronicles. This is a musical voyage through the cosmos, it explores what it means to get out of our backyard and meet our cousins living in other worlds, perhaps in crystallized form?

This is pure speculation, pure imagination and mostly, pure fun. I can't wait to record all of it and share it with you all. I have already written all of the piano parts from beginning to end, and I am currently working on the orchestration and electronic ensemble arrangements. The introduction is ready, and you will see it here on this page soon. With a video and all...

Another common thing you will see, is that I will record two versions of each movement: a piano solo one, and an orchestrated one. It just seemed right to do so. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have.
